The Seven Last Words of Christ are Jesus’ final statements from the cross, revealing His heart and the purpose of His sacrifice—forgiveness, salvation, compassion, anguish, fulfillment, victory, and surrender.
“Father, forgive them…” (Luke 23:34) — Mercy in the middle of cruelty.
“Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43) — Salvation by grace.
“Behold thy son… behold thy mother.” (John 19:26–27) — Compassion and care.
“My God… why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matt. 27:46; Mark 15:34) — Deep anguish, bearing sin.
“I thirst.” (John 19:28) — Real suffering, Scripture fulfilled.
“It is finished.” (John 19:30) — The work completed, debt paid.
“Into thy hands I commend my spirit.” (Luke 23:46) — Full surrender to the Father.
